He was never really interested in playing as a professional but did participate in local leagues. His passion was in the technically skilled parts of football. Rather than the fitness level instead Oli concentrated on his control, fakies, stepover and generally how to humiliate his opponent. These moves were developed naturally whilst Oli was constantly playing with the ball at football practice or on the park with friends. As the freestyle skills became more recognizable to Oli, he became bored of the average 11 a side game of football and decided to concentrate on his freestyle moves. The true freestyle skills were shown to Oli in TV commercials which inspired him to try something different. Around the World is a common freestyle move but there are many variations of this trick which Oli has learnt and personalized over the years through practice.
Oli decided to film his training sessions to see where he could improve with style and other aspects of his hobby and eventually he posted his clips on youtube for people across the world to see.
After Oli put in large amounts of practice each day to get to an advanced level and one day he was contacted by a football coaching network which asked him to go to an event in Leeds. From there his name got about and people started to recognize that Oli had huge potential to be part of the freestyle industry so a few major sporting companies put Oli in the places he need to be and all he had to do was kick his football. Since then Oli has grown with his freestyle skills, confidence and now trains on average 30 hours per week which means he is always learning new things!
